We were so excited to be able to be part of the solution to take the Kong Summit virtual this year. Kong, a technology company based in San Francisco, broadcast their summit to users all over the world this year from their headquarters in the bay area. They welcomed us to their team to help run the audio visual side of the summit and to produce their video content, which included creating a welcome video for the summit. Similar to promotional videos, a welcome video is a great way to kick off an event and get the audience energized. We shot the video on location at their headquarters office, edited and then streamed the pre-recorded video during the conference. It’s a great example of one way to grab the attention of a virtual audience and move past the typical zoom presentations.
The goal of a promo video is usually to provide the most information in the least amount of time while maintaining the viewer’s interest. It is an effective way to market a product or service, create awareness or make an announcement.
This particular video we produced for the Kong Summit showcases many techniques to keep viewer interest such as:
- Tracking shots: following presenters as they walk
- Sound syncing to actions in the video
- Both visual and graphic effects: lower thirds, titles, basic graphic animation
